
Pentathlon Facilitator Eligibility

To become a Pentathlon facilitator, you must be, or have one of the following:

Completed the health coach training
-
Are a healthcare professional or teacher in their work

Already deliver health-based training and/or coaching
-
Teaching or facilitating experience
Additional requirements are as follows:

You would want to help your community members make improvements to their health and wellbeing by delivering easy to understand health and lifestyle information

Complete the ‘core’ elements of the community health coach training and attended the health literacy training
-
Already be delivering health-based training and/or coaching
-
Be a health care professional or teacher in your work and if the latter, also attended the health literacy training
About the Pentathlon Facilitator training
The initial Pentathlon facilitator training is virtual and consists of five (5) core sessions and 2 practice sessions followed by a question-and-answer session. To complete the Pentathlon training you must attend all 5 core sessions and delivered one practice session.
Once training has been completed you will be expected to:

Fully understand the content of each session

Be confident to deliver the content in a group setting (there is additional support if you require it)

Understand that the content MUST be delivered by script and with the resources provided and that there is no tolerance to deviate from the script.

Be aware of their own limitations and knowledge and therefore apply appropriate boundaries in place i.e. do not answer questions that you do not have the knowledge for

Practice delivering the sessions with peers

Attend any required update sessions
